History and curious facts

The story of Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos All Inclusive Golf & Spa

The resort sits inside Cabo del Sol, a golf and residential development where Jack Nicklaus was given oceanside land for its first course in 1994. That course became a regular on world top 100 lists and was later redesigned and renamed the Cove Club, while a second course by Tom Weiskopf, the Desert Course, opened seven years after the first. Forbes Travel Guide lists both as neighbors of the hotel. Hurricane Odile made landfall on September 13, 2014, and during the storm the staff stayed with guests for days in a sheltered room with backup generators, water and food. The resort reopened on November 23, 2014, one of the first in Cabo San Lucas to do so, with new paint, furniture, lobby, spa, restaurants and landscaping. In May 2016 Grupo Posadas placed it in its new Fiesta Americana Resort Collection, a group of twelve resorts in Mexico.
