The hotel
Krystal Grand Los Cabos is an all-inclusive beach resort at km 29 of the Carretera Transpeninsular, at the San José del Cabo end of the Tourist Corridor, a few minutes from the town center. It is about 26.1 km from the Cabo San Lucas Marina, around 27 minutes by car without traffic; at rush hour the drive takes longer. Grupo Hotelero Santa Fe reopened it under the Krystal Grand brand on March 1, 2017.
The hotel sits on the shore of the Sea of Cortez with beachfront rooms and a wide beach area. The official site does not name the beach or say whether swimming is safe there.1

The story of Krystal Grand Los Cabos
The hotel ran under a different brand until early 2017. In February of that year Grupo Hotelero Santa Fe, the Mexican company that operates the Krystal brands, announced it was buying two properties, one in Los Cabos and one in Nuevo Vallarta, to expand them and turn them into Krystal Grand hotels. The two assets were valued together at 119.8 million dollars. The Los Cabos hotel had 267 rooms at the time, and the plan was to grow it into a 454-room all-inclusive resort operating as Krystal Grand from March 1, 2017. Today the official site describes it as an all-inclusive beachfront resort with four pools and an Altitude section, the brand's top category, whose suites have private pools, direct beach access and a private lounge.

The hotel has a kids club and a teens club, and for families staying here the family outing or a snorkel trip works well. Couples can pick the sunset sail, and the whale-watching trip runs from December to April. For a sunset departure, leave the hotel with extra time, since afternoon traffic toward Cabo San Lucas makes the drive longer.
