ME Cabo is a 170-room adults-only hotel by ME by Meliá on Playa El Médano in Cabo San Lucas, facing the Arch. It is about 0.8 km in a straight line from the Cabo San Lucas Marina, around 2 minutes by car without traffic, more at rush hour. The hotel was called Meliá Cabo San Lucas until 2007, when it was relaunched as ME Cabo.
ME Cabo is on Playa El Médano, the swimming beach on the bay side of Cabo San Lucas. Los Cabos Magazine lists swimming, jet skiing, kayaking and parasailing there.1
History and curious facts
The story of ME Cabo
The hotel on this spot of Médano was the Meliá Cabo San Lucas. In February 2007, Sol Meliá and the Mexican company Grupo Questro relaunched it as ME Cabo, the third hotel in the ME by Meliá line and its second in Mexico after ME Cancún. Rebeca Pérez of Interarq designed the 150 rooms of that era with architect Álvaro Sans, and paintings and sculptures by Yuri Zatarain were placed around the hotel.
On March 17, 2016, ME Cabo reopened after a $16 million renovation with 162 rooms, 62 of them ME+ suites. Architects Patricia Ríos and Leonardo Díaz Borioli worked on that project with interior designer Alejandra Contreras, and Mexican masons, carpenters and craftsmen made the custom furniture. A second renovation, worth $10 million, was unveiled on October 27, 2021: all 170 rooms were remodeled, Confessions Skybar opened on the roof, and Taboo Beach Club took over the pool and beach area.

- Mexican artist Yuri Zatarain's paintings and sculptures have been part of the hotel since the 2007 relaunch and stayed after the 2016 renovation.3
- The 2016 renovation created Suite ME, a penthouse made from three joined units with a small DJ booth.3
- Confessions Skybar & Tapas, the rooftop bar and lounge, was built in the 2021 renovation.4

ME Cabo is adults only and leans toward nightlife, so its guests are mostly couples and groups of friends. A sunset sail suits couples, and a birthday or bachelorette charter is an easy plan for a group before a night at the rooftop bar. Our driver picks you up at the hotel and reaches the Marina in about 2 minutes without traffic, then leaves you close to your yacht's dock. From the boat you see El Médano and your hotel from the water, then Land's End and the Arch up close. A snorkel stop near Lover's Beach is a good add-on, and from December to April you can book whale watching. The driver brings you back to ME Cabo after the trip.
