Leave at 11:30 AM and you are back by 1:30 PM: a short snorkel at Pelican Rock, the sea lions, the Arch, Lover's Beach and back along Médano Beach, 4.7 miles in all. That leaves 4 h 30 min for lunch in town before the tender.
With 6 h 30 min available, the 4 hour trip fits: leave at 11:30 AM, pass the Arch and run up the coast to snorkel Santa María Bay, with a swim stop on the way back, and you are at the dock by 3:30 PM, 2 h 30 min before your time to be back. Note: Santa María Bay is closed for snorkeling for now and we expect it to reopen in November (updated October 10, 2026); on calls before November the snorkel stop is Pelican Rock instead. Ask us.
