What is Sabor a Cabo?

It's a food night where restaurants from across Los Cabos set up in one place and you graze from station to station. The 2026 edition is the 18th, and its theme is "Una Verbena Sibarita". A verbena is a Mexican neighborhood street fair, and sibarita means a lover of fine food, so the idea is a street-fair mood with chef-level cooking.

It's also a fundraiser. Ticket money goes to the Cabo San Lucas fire department (Bomberos) and the Mexican Red Cross (Cruz Roja), the people who answer emergencies in Cabo, including the week you're here on vacation.

Date, time and venue

Sabor a Cabo is on Saturday, December 5, 2026, starting at 5 PM, at EDEA Timeless Venue in Cabo San Lucas. The organizer hasn't published a closing time.

Cabo runs on Mountain Standard Time all year and doesn't change its clocks, so 5 PM in Cabo is 4 PM in Los Angeles and 7 PM in New York in December. That matters if part of your group lands the same afternoon.

Sunset that day is around 5:35 PM. You'll arrive in the last of the daylight, and most of the evening will be after dark.

Tickets: how much is Sabor a Cabo?

According to the organizer, there are two ticket types:

Ticket Price What you get
General MXN 3,250 Entry to the event
VIP MXN 5,600 Entry with a table

Those prices come from a single source, so confirm them before you pay. Prices from past editions don't help either; the February 2025 numbers no longer apply.

Prices are in Mexican pesos. If your group wants a table, the VIP ticket is the one that includes it.

What's at the festival

Up to 45 Los Cabos restaurants take part, each with its own dish. There are wine bars and mixology bars too, so it's as much a tasting night for drinks as for food. When the organizer publishes the restaurant list, look it over and decide which stations to hit first, because you won't get to all of them.

La Sonora Santanera, the long-running Mexican cumbia orchestra, plays the closing set, and the night ends with dancing. The rest of the music lineup hasn't been announced.

Why you saw a February date

If you searched for Sabor a Cabo and found February dates, that's from earlier editions. The 16th edition was held in February 2025. The 18th edition, in 2026, is in December. Before you buy, make sure the listing you're reading says December 5, 2026.

Tips for the night

Take a taxi or book a driver. Wine and cocktails flow all evening, and driving back isn't worth it.

Bring a light jacket or a sweater. Early December lows are around 72°F (22°C), which feels cool at night once you've been standing outside for a few hours.

Come hungry and pick your priorities. With up to 45 restaurants, you won't taste everything.

Buy early and keep your receipt or confirmation handy. If you know you're going, don't leave it for the last week.

What else is on that weekend

December 5 isn't the only thing happening. The Mar a Mar Trail runs December 3 to 6, from Los Barriles to Todos Santos. In La Paz, ExpoMotor BCS runs December 5 and 6. On Sunday the 6th there's a shore fishing tournament at Playa Migriño, on the Pacific side near Cabo San Lucas. The following week, December 9 to 13, is the Los Cabos International Film and Creativity Festival.

All of it, plus what's still waiting on dates, is in our December events calendar. If you're staying several days, Cabo in December covers the weather and what to pack.

A full weekend around Sabor a Cabo

If you fly in Friday and leave Sunday, the weekend fits together like this:

Day Morning Afternoon and evening
Friday, Dec 4 Arrive and settle in Sunset cruise, easy dinner
Saturday, Dec 5 2 to 3 hours to the Arch Sabor a Cabo from 5 PM
Sunday, Dec 6 Breakfast on the water Todos Santos or a beach day

On Saturday morning, the standard 2-hour route passes Pelican Rock, the sea lion colony, the Arch and Lover's Beach, then comes back along Médano Beach. The water is still around 80°F (27°C) in early December, so a swim stop is easy.

Sunday after a late night is a good time for breakfast at anchor. You can add food in the planner: chilaquiles with beans or huevos rancheros are MXN 325 each at the cash price (cards add 16%), and a medium cheese and charcuterie board is MXN 1,440. If you'd rather stay on land, the Mar a Mar Trail finishes in Todos Santos that weekend, about 48 miles (77 km) from Cabo San Lucas.

If your group wants the meal itself on the water, the McKinna 70 carries a chef, cooks a multi-course menu on board and includes complimentary drinks served by the crew. It takes up to 12 guests with a 3-hour minimum, at USD 4,499 / MXN 85,499. It's the one yacht where alcohol is included; on every other boat, guests 18 and over bring their own.

Our article on private dinner cruises goes into how a meal on board works, if a dinner at sea sounds better than a dinner on land on one of your other nights.

A sunset on the water before dinner

Going out on a yacht and then heading to dinner is a very Cabo way to spend a day. With Sabor a Cabo there's a catch: doors open at 5 PM and the sun sets around 5:35 PM, so a sunset cruise and an on-time arrival at EDEA don't fit on the same evening. There are two ways to handle it.

The first is to take the sunset the day before or the day after. A 2-hour sunset cruise on Friday the 4th or Sunday the 6th, leaving around 3:30 PM, gets you to the Arch in the golden light and back to the dock as the town lights come on. Our guide to the best sunset cruise in Cabo compares the bay and Pacific routes.

The second is to sail the same Saturday around midday: 2 or 3 hours past the Arch and Lover's Beach, then back with time to shower and change before the festival.

For two, the Bayliner 30 is USD 549 / MXN 10,499 for 2 hours. For a group of up to 12, the Sea Ray 40 is USD 879 / MXN 16,799 for 2 hours, and towels are included. For a bigger group of friends, up to 18, the Pontoon 38 is USD 869 / MXN 16,599 for 2 hours. Prices are per boat, tax included, tip not included. No alcohol is sold on board; guests 18 and over can bring their own.

If you already have your festival tickets, hold a yacht in the planner and pick a time that gets you to EDEA without rushing.
