The best yacht in Cabo for 4 people is the Bayliner 33, a 33-foot express cruiser with room for 8, so four people can spread out. It costs USD 599 (MXN 11,399) for two hours, about USD 137 each, and boards at O Dock 2, by Arte Surf, in Marina Cabo San Lucas. If you'd rather have a cabin and sodas included, the Bayliner 30 is USD 549 (MXN 10,499). If you want a deckhand and towels, the Sea Ray 36 is USD 659 (MXN 12,599). Prices are per boat with the 16% tax included; the 15% crew tip is extra.
With four people, the price per person of a private boat starts to look reasonable next to a shared tour, and every boat in the fleet still fits the group. The whole fleet by headcount is on our yacht by group size page.

Two couples on a double date: Bayliner 33
Two couples usually want a bit of separation, the bow for one pair and the cockpit for the other, and the Bayliner 33 has room for 8. It costs USD 50 more than the Bayliner 30 and includes ice, bottled water, a floating mat and snorkel gear, but no sodas. We'd book the Bayliner 33 for a sunset with two bottles in the cooler (guests 18 and over bring their own; the yachts don't sell or serve alcohol).
Leave about 90 minutes before sunset; the trip guide has the sunset time for your date. Our sunset cruise guide compares the bay and Pacific routes.

A family of four with kids: Bayliner 30 or Bayliner 33
For parents with two children, we'd pick the Bayliner 30 because it's a cabin cruiser, with shade, a nap spot and a place to change a wet swimsuit. The Bayliner 30 also includes bottled water and sodas, which saves carrying them. The Bayliner 33 is USD 50 more and includes bottled water but no sodas. Tell us the kids' ages when you book, and keep the first trip to two hours in the morning.
The Bayliner 30 takes exactly 6, so a family of four has two spare seats for a grandparent or a friend. Our best yacht for 6 guide covers the family-of-six version, and the family day page shows the routine with kids.
Four who want a crew and the view: Sea Ray 36 or Sea Ray 40
The Sea Ray 36 adds a deckhand, towels and a cooler, so nobody from the group handles lines or looks for a towel after the swim. It's one of only three yachts in the fleet that include towels. The Sea Ray 40 adds a flybridge, the upper deck where four people can sit together and look down on the Arch, for USD 879 (MXN 16,799) for two hours, about USD 220 each.
For a birthday or an anniversary among four, the Azimut 45 Flybridge is the step up: a 45-foot flybridge yacht with a captain and deckhand, water and sodas, towels and snorkel gear, for USD 1,249 (MXN 23,799) for two hours. The top of the fleet is on the luxury yachts page.

Where a boat for 4 goes in two, three or four hours
Two hours is the Arch route: out past Pelican Rock, a slow pass by the sea lion colony, photos at the Arch, Lover's Beach on the calm side and Divorce Beach on the Pacific side, then back along Médano Beach. Three hours adds a proper swim stop near Lover's Beach, with the floating mat in the water. Four hours is the minimum for the ride up the coast to Santa María Bay, which is closed for snorkeling for now and expected to reopen in November. Until then the snorkel stop is Pelican Rock, next to the Arch, and it fits in two hours.
Our yacht day itinerary guide lays out each length hour by hour.
Food and drinks for four
Food is optional and ordered in the planner at cash prices in pesos (card adds 16%). For four, breakfast dishes at MXN 325 each on a morning run, box lunches from MXN 238 at midday, or a small cheese board at MXN 780 for a sunset. The Bayliner 30 includes bottled water and sodas, and the Bayliner 33 includes bottled water (sodas are MXN 51 each in the planner). On the Chaparral 28, bring water or add it at MXN 17 a bottle.
What every boat for 4 includes
- A captain, and a deckhand on the Sea Ray 36 and up.
- The CONANP conservation fee for the protected area around the Arch.
- Departures from 7 AM to 7 PM, sailing until 8 PM, anchored in the bay until 10 PM from the marina.
- A new date or a full refund if the Port Captain closes the harbor, which happens mostly between September and mid-October.
None of these boats allow fishing; they're pleasure boats without fishing permits.
